Highlights from the Event

Knowledge Exchange

The two-day event featured high-level panels and discussions on:

  • Digital innovation in fisheries, aquaculture, and marine biotechnology
  • Best practices in marine sustainability and responsible tourism
  • Integrating blockchain technologies for traceable seafood supply chains

This aligned closely with MIWEBIT’s commitment to leveraging digital tools for social and environmental impact.

Partnership Building

MIWEBIT engaged in structured co-creation sessions “speed dating” designed to connect stakeholders across sectors. These exchanges led to new conversations with cooperatives, innovation hubs, and sustainability-focused SMEs, paving the way for future partnerships and proposal development.

Practical Insights

As part of the field activities, participants visited La Noria, an aquaponics innovation center demonstrating sustainable agriculture from marine environments. A boat tour to Fuengirola further highlighted community-based coastal tourism practices reinforcing the event’s message of inclusive, environmentally conscious development.

Alignment with EU Vision

MIWEBIT’s presence at the Spain Living Lab underpins our strategy to engage in:

  • Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects related to green and digital transitions
  • Capacity-building and non-formal education models for maritime communities
  • Building a bridge between technological innovation and social inclusion

The event experience contributes directly to our internal development under the “Partnership” pillar of our activity framework and enhances our positioning as a competent and mission-aligned project partner in European collaborations.
